THE HOUSE
The structure was born inside an ancient farmhouse dating back to the 1800s.
At the time it was one of the first houses built in brick, home to wealthy families. It is said that one of the last owners was Mrs. Fantino, in dialect "Tota Fantin", a middle-class woman who spent her time managing her properties scattered throughout the town.
Of course, not being able to carry out the numerous maintenances of various lands and buildings on her own, the lady made use of the help of her "fatù" (handyman) called Panetu (Giuseppe Malvicino) who took her around the town on the saddle of a mule.
After many years of residence in Govone, Mrs. Fantino decided to expatriate, leaving her rich heritage to her heirs. He left for Venezuela and continued to live there until his death.
To date, the Bed & Breakfast is presented as the result of a careful renovation, aimed at not distorting the origins of the ancient residence, but at the same time with the intention of making its interiors welcoming and pleasant.
Period furnishings, restored in a modern key, complete the rustic environment characterized by vaulted ceilings and ancient fireplaces.
Where possible, the original floors, made up of red and gray cement tiles, have been maintained.
To make everything more welcoming, fine textiles, authentic hand-embroidered sheets and blankets have been used.
